So I've seen Cosmopolis today...

I won’t write a review. I can’t even express my feelings in my native language, it would be even more difficult in English. There were many scenes that I didn’t understand (e.g. his weird “relationship” with Torval, or who was Samantha Morton’s character exactly or the 22 yr-old boy in the beginning of the movie) - I think I should have read the book before watching the movie but it just came out last week there. I must tell I don’t even know a lot about capitalism, I will learn business and economics next year, so I couldn’t understand some facts right now.

It’s true, I didn’t really understood the movie, but I think if I watch it again (and I definitely would like to!) I get more and more pieces I may didn’t hear before or I just didn’t find out the meaning. I WANT to solve all these little pieces, I was thinking about it for hours, and I’m still doing it. This movie won’t left you without any impressions for sure.

I must mention the hand shooting scene, which was really creepy and Rob was A-MA-ZING. Now tell me bitches he can’t act. Ha! I’ve always considered him as a talented actor, and he even proved me his gift in Little Ashes, but this. This is something really different. I can’t even express myself… Just watch him after he shot his hand. Those who’ve already seen the movie get it why I highlight this little scene.

And I know many of you are curious about the sex scene with Patricia McKenzie. Oh God, what can I say……………… I was prepared that this scene is quite steamy, but I couldn’t imagine such steaminess (I’m not sure whether this word even exists :D)! I thought it will be some realistic thursting in a couple of seconds, but hell not! They were having sex for about 2 minutes. He was grabbing her bare butt and breasts, and they made faces and noises and his finger was in her mouth. And not to forget that you can watch them having an orgasm……………….. It was too lifelike. I mean, I was really embarrassed. Lol, they were even chatting about Torval while fucking… :D Now I’m not surprised reading the interview where Rob was talking about filming this scene was really realistic, and he almost felt like really having sex.

Okay, I’m done. All in all, this movie is hard to understand, but I am dedicated and watch it again and again and I’m sure I’ll make everything clear. It made me think really hard, I am thinking about the movie since then. People who wrote bad reviews didn’t even tried to understand the movie. It’s obvious it has something important to say, some get it, some not. And I’m working on getting it. :D

In my opinion playing Eric Packer was Rob’s best performance so far - e.g. the last scene with Benno…. both of them are great, and play their complex role perfectly. Yes, perfectly. I didn’t even had the thought at once that I see Rob playing Eric. I saw Eric, the world citizen with a New York pair of balls. ;D

  • Rob: Complain. About being awake. Huuuh, feel confused about where I am. Check that my arms and legs are still attached.

“Oh man, I was terrified on Cosmopolis,” he laughs, as we near the end of our conversation. “There was a sex scene and I was cringing. The girl was really comfortable with her clothes off – and I’m not. She took all her clothes off and I was just sitting there going, ‘Um, I haven’t got my ‘ball-sack’ on…’ F*cking amazing.”

“I think 26 is the turning point,” he says. “I’ve got to make up for 10 years of living like a degenerate. I’ve suddenly become conscious of being unhealthy. You’ve spent every bit of free time since [the age of ] 15 in a pub. And suddenly you’re like, ‘Oh God, I don’t want to be this grey ghost sitting there with a pot belly. I’ve got to get it together.” Getting it together means a new life mantra. “Don’t be a pussy,” he states. “Basically, that’s the best thing you can ever think. I’ve had so many occasions in my life where I’ve acted like a pussy and regretted it. Have you seen that Tyson documentary? That bit where he says he’d defeated the guy before he’s walked into the ring, it’s the same thing. With acting, I was always so scared. But you get to the point where you realise it doesn’t matter.”

The next 12 months will push Pattinson into the talented Hollywood Brit-pack that includes Andrew ‘Spider-Man’ Garfield, Henry ‘Superman’ Cavill and Tom ‘Loki’ Hiddleston. Sure, he hasn’t been offered a superhero yet. But fast-forward 10 years and could we be looking at Bond? “Yeah, definitely,” he says. “But more like 20 years. There’d be nothing worse than, like, ‘Let’s get a fresh-faced Bond!’ That would be the worst idea in the world. After Daniel Craig, you have to have some baggage. It would be ridiculous to reinvent it as some young posh kid. Or, if it was, I’d have to be tortured in the first few scenes. I’d have to do the first film with one arm or something.”

For some time now, Pattinson has been quietly attempting to dodge the Twilight spotlight and disappear in darker roles. Depression-era romance Water For Elephants saw him take a beating from Inglourious Basterds villain Christoph Waltz. Christina Ricci, Uma Thurman and Kristin Scott Thomas were all seduced-and-destroyed by his 19th-century sexual predator in Bel Ami. “But every single time, a Twilight comes out and inevitably eclipses whatever I’ve done in the meantime,” sighs Pattinson.
